With a sharp eye and subtle humor, Bregenz-based artist Maria Anwander sketches a dystopian world somewhere between the present and the near future. The exhibition becomes a playground for shattered hero fantasies and dark visions of what lies ahead. Because it’s not just Hollywood that must ask: What comes after the apocalypse film?
Alles in der Welt besteht aus Codes, zumindest für Computer. Den meisten Everything in the world is made of code—or at least, that’s how computers see it. For most people, programming languages and algorithms remain unfamiliar territory. Yet their applications in everyday life are well known and seemingly full of promise: facial recognition sorts our photos automatically, and robotic vacuum cleaners navigate our homes on their own. But what happens when these helpful tools become unpredictable threats? And in a hyper-technologized world, what forms of resistance would still be possible?
