In the exhibition “private parts”, Sara-Lena Maierhofer (*1982, Freudenstadt) turns her attention to the interpersonal space that defines the boundary between ourselves and others.

What is the natural distance between people? How does this vary across cultures? And how is our sense of closeness changing with the continued rise of virtual worlds? Maierhofer’s collage-like, research-based approach combines images and information from a variety of sources into a multifaceted artistic project. She uses both her own and found imagery, along with objects and videos. Projections meet reflections, ancient sculptures encounter Kim Kardashian.
