Ugo Dossi
ULTRA-MARIN – Ein Loch im Himmel
Ugo Dossis’ installation at the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen deals with flying in a broad and figurative sense.
Analogous to the reconstruction of a Zeppelin segment in the museum, he has constructed a ‘spaceship’ that takes visitors on a journey ‘beyond the sea’ into the visual world of the unconscious. A technoid cabinet with an orgone machine and flash projections, as well as images that function as ‘gates’ and ‘bridges,’ point the way to the innermost depths of our consciousness.
At the same time, the Kunstverein is exhibiting automatic drawings that Ugo Dossi has collected in a wide variety of cultural zones around the globe.
Ugo Dossi was born in Munich in 1943. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and the Accademia Brera in Milan. He participated in documenta 6 and documenta 8 in Kassel and the Venice Biennale in 1986.
He has taught at various universities in Germany and abroad.
Ugo Dossi lives and works in Munich.
